Where Are My UAG Array Settings?

So you have created a Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 (UAG) array but you don’t see any array settings for your trunks.

So you set up your UAG machine and told it to be an array and that it would be the array manager. You know that you need dedicated IPs (DIPs) for each array member on each trunk and virtual IPs (VIPS) for NLB for each trunk if you are using NLB, but you don’t see those settings. Where are the settings?

For those of you who might be new to UAG this can be rather confusing. You are setting up your development environment and integration environments but you want to create build instructions for your test and/or production environment where you will have an array of UAG machines instead of your single machine. But you can’t find the spot to configure the array DIPs and VIPs for the trunk.

Here is the trick, these settings don’t appear until you add a second machine to your array.

Your UAG array manager will just have these settings when there is only one machine in the array:
External Site Address
HTTPS Port: ______
IP address: ______

Once you add another UAG server to your array your settings for the trunk will change:
External Site Address
HTTPS Port: _____
( ) Use Integrated NLB
Virtual IP: _____
(*) Do not use integrated NLB:
Array Member | IP

So mystery solved, although to see the changes you will need to close and re-open the UAG management console after you add the second array member.
